Mary E. Burns, DMD
Board Certified Orthodontist
Dr. Burns graduated with honors, with a degree in Dental Medicine, from the University of Pittsburgh in 1983. After doing a general practice residency, at the VA Hospital in Pittsburgh, and a public health service residency in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Dr. Burns became a part of the faculty at Temple University’s Restorative Department. Soon to follow, she had a private practice in Abington, PA, but her career path was not over yet.
Dr. Burns went on to receive her Certificate in Orthodontics, from The Ohio State University, in 1990, as well as her Masters of Education and Science that same year. In 1997, Dr. Burns received a certificate from The Roth Institute on TMJ centered orthodontic treatment. In 2005, she received a certificate from the Lee Institution on TMJ oriented Oral Rehabilitation, as well as becoming a part of their orthodontic faculty that same year.
Dr. Burns is a Board Certified Orthodontist who has been in practice for the past 24 years, 17 of which were in orthodontics. She has been a member of the American Association of Orthodontics for the past 20 years, as well as a part of the OBI Foundation for Bioesthetic Dentistry for 10 years. She is a Roth-trained Orthodontist and an OBI level III graduate, whom possesses the knowledge and ability that only a select few ever attain. Dr. Burns has a loving family of three children. She enjoys staying fit at the gym, cycling and reading.
Rajiv Patel, BDS, DDS
Board Certified Endodontist
Dr. Rajiv Patel has published clinical papers and text book chapters on topics in endodontics and has won several awards for table clinic presentations at state and national levels. He is an active member on several online endodontic forums.
Dr. Raj is a member of the International Academy of Dental Traumatology and collaborates with pediatric dentists to treat children presenting with traumatic dental injuries.
Dr. Raj is a fellow and founding member of The International Academy of Endodontics and The International Endodontic Institute, in addition to being an active member of various other specialist organizations. He also founded the Share Study Club LLC, with the goal of benefiting our patients with knowledge and expertise gained from world class scientific and clinical education.
Dr. Raj is married and is the father of two beautiful daughters. In his spare time, Raj enjoys spending time with his family and friends, dancing with his daughters, new age music, reading, entertaining and he also plans to learn some golf.
Larry R. Stewart, DDS, MS
Board Certified Oral Surgeon
Dr. Larry R. Stewart, since 2005 has been featured in Texas Monthly as a “Super Dentist” and in D Magazine as a “Best Dentist” in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Stewart has lectured extensively on implants, and bone grafting procedures.
He stays active in professional associations, having been president of the Texas Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists. Dr. Stewart has been an Associate Clinical professor in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at TAMU College of Dentistry (formerly Baylor Dental School) for 24 years.
Dr. Larry R. Stewart has attended mission trips to Kenya and Guatemala; and is an avid amateur photographer and enjoys the out of doors and travel.
Richard J. Martin, DDS
Board Certified Oral Surgeon
Dr. Martin has a special interest in surgical instrument design and splint design. During his residency he started designing instruments and for the past 12 years has designed over 20 instruments. Many are used by surgeons around the world. He still continues to work with the same instrument company and has had the #1-selling surgical instrument in the world, the Grasping-Forcep, for the last 4 years. He has now turned his focus towards designing instruments for bone grafting and dental implants.
Each year Dr. Martin conducts continuing education seminars regarding dental implants, tissue grafting, and bone grafting for his referring doctors.
